The Horned Haven
Perhaps the most urban of the six nations, the Horned Haven is made up of primarily of Tieflings, though it also contains the greatest number of humans since the retreat of the Empire. They are descended from citizens originally of the Empire but were afflicted by the ill understood Tiefling curse. No one is quite sure how Tieflings are born of humans, but they made a sizeable and respected minority of the empire before the Dasouphate Council demanded the expulsion of the Tiefling population they would crusade into their lands and cleanse the populations, as well as those that gave birth to Tieflings. The Empire chose to forcibly emigrate them to Cruamul. Stripped of any status or belongings, the Tieflings were forced into indentured servitude, the end of which usually saw them forced into military service as a “citizen’s duty” or given sub-par land or housing to scrounge a living from. Thus, Tieflings aided in the Empire’s expulsion and claimed most of the large and primarily coastal cities as their own.
The Horned Haven has been advertised as a refuge for Tieflings and their parents all across the world, a policy begrudgingly allowed by the Golden Union in the aftermath of the Defense of Port Haven. Thus, though they are by far the least populous race in the land, there are sizeable human populations in Haven cities, surrounded by Tiefling kin. Since the Horned Haven mans the ports, it contains all the exports and imports Cruamul has to offer, making it quite the melting pot culture that takes artwork and fashion from all over the continent, though the other nations find it uncomfortable how much the dominant culture of the Haven seems to resemble the Empire.
